Dry Macular Degeneration
Dry macular degeneration is not a disease we have very good treatments for yet, but good vegetable intake, AREDS-2 formula vitamins, and avoiding tobacco products are thought to be helpful. Sometimes the drusen will go away, but if you have the "geographic" form of AMD, that will leave behind spots of atrophy, and vision will have small blank spots. We have research progressing rapidly to develop medication to prevent blindness from this disease.
